Liz Garth M.Ed, LPC, CAC III
Liz offers a supportive environment where individuals can share their life’s experiences and resolve the challenges that can create barriers in their lives. Using an individualized, integrative approach, she promotes healing and growth for the individuals and families she works with. She actively listens, provides targeted interventions and teaches individuals effective problem solving to overcome issues in their life as they arise.
Liz graduated from Ft. Lewis College in Durango, Colorado with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. She received a Master of Arts in Education, with an emphasis in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Addiction Counselor. She is also licensed by the Colorado Board of Education, as a Special Service Provider to serve students K-12. She has over 20 years experience working in various clinical settings with individuals and families. This includes Napa State Hospital, residential, emancipation and community based programs, youth corrections, nursing homes and private practice. This experience also includes working within various school districts, serving K-12 students, in before and after school programming, as well as, providing group therapy to at risk students.
Liz is a Denver Metro and Aurora based Therapist who specializes in working with people who have mental illness, addictions, and those who have multiple diagnoses. She also has extensive experience working with individuals who are developmentally disabled. Further specialties include adjustment and transition services for individuals and families. Liz is passionate about the issues concerning adoptive families and at risk youth, as well as, working with individuals who have experienced grief and loss or fertility issues. Liz presented a workshop at the Colorado Juvenile Council in 2010, addressing treating children and youth with grief and loss concerns.
Liz is married and has twins who are adopted from Haiti. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, boating, biking, cooking and traveling around the world.
